All you need is your embassy approval and it must state your religion, or a proof of religion from the corresponding religious authority .... Embassy approval requirements (and fees) vary from embassy to embassy since they are not subject to Egyptian government regulations.

After obtaining the Approval of your embassy, you need the following:

1- Proof of religion (already discussed, not needed if your embassy approval states your religion). Must be solicited from Al-Azhar (if Muslim), your church (orthodox, catholic ...etc. if christian) or the synagogue (if Jewish) .... but again, if your embassy approval states any of this as your religion, you don't need this document .... with one exception if you are not born Muslim and now are a Muslim you need to get a certificate of becoming Muslim from Al-Azhar, issued for free, takes 1-2 days .....


2- Stamp the embassy approval from the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs - Notary office (Mohandessin, Giza, or Heliopolis, Cairo) ..... Fees are 11 pounds, no documents required other than the approval original copy.

3- Health certificates for you and your fiance from any public hospital. Needs two photos of each of you. Free of charge, needs copy of your passport and your fiance's national ID card.

4- Stamp your passport at the main Immigration office in Tahrir with a temporary residence stamp, free of charge, needs no documents, issued immediately.

5- Family insurance fund stamp, 50 pounds, available at any post office.

6- Five personal photos of each of you.

Head to Ministry of Justice, Lazoghly Square, Downtown, take all these papers + copies of your passport, entry visa, entry stamp and his national ID card.

Last but not least, you can obtain your visa upon arrival at Cairo airport for $15 ....
