Catherine, be it English lessons, Maths, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, you name it the standard charges for an hour by the private tutors are 25LYD. Now you may be able to find others which go over this mark, but with this amount you can get a rather great personal tutor.

In this case the tutor will go by his own transportation. But if you can pick and drop the tutor then it can be cheaper...hope it helps.

P.S. I know this, because I have to drop the darn tutor for my kids every consecutive day.

With regards to rates, it really depends on your experience and what level you are tutoring.  Many charge 30 dinar per hour for Junior High and above.  If you are helping a student to prepare to write a special exam, PET, TEFL or GCSE, many charge up to 60 dinar per hour.  Many of the private English schools in the area will pass on your name to the students who need extra help, so it would not hurt going around to drop off contact details.  If I hear of anyone looking for a tutor I will send you a pm.
