In all seriousness, it'd be a tough decision to make, balancing your safety, the leader's聽 wrath and your ability to provide on the ground insight (incite?) that Americans would be able to relate to....cause let's face it, Americans need to be spoon fed their international news especially from "those Arab countries".聽 Who can spoon feed Americans better than a person like you?!聽 He he.

Don't do it.聽 You never know what could happen to those little soundbites in the future.聽
They could be used as evidence against you, in some unlikely but not impossible future scenario.

King does have a good point and you'll have to live the outcome of your decision.聽 It could be life changing but in what way is totally unpredictable.聽 You can do a "what if" scenario game.聽 What's the worse that can happen?聽 You're killed or imprisoned. Or deported. Fired from job.聽 The best?聽 You become a talking head for CNN during the revolution, then write your memoirs, become a best selling author, go on the talk junket, chat with Meredith, Al (you two would be good buddies!) and Matt.聽 Hell, you could be Matt's guide when he shows up in Tripoli for the "where in the world is....". Series if they ever do it again (temporarily suspended in light of the "economy").

Whatever you decide, post here if you're gonna be on CNN so I can watch.聽 I shift between all the networks for news, but land mostly on AJ.

LOL Mo, I got contacted from a Radio Station in Portugal with the same request. I'm thinking of telling them I don't speak Portuguese.

I received a similar message, I guess because my location still says Benghazi. I am in contact several times a day with friends loved ones there.  What is going on there is real.  People were being killed.  The citizens there were afraid that no one (the world) would know.  People were desperate to talk to CNN or any outside media source.  Did I connect my friends with CNN?  No way!  I care about my friends so no way would I put them in a situation that might cause them to be killed.  I consider you my 聯net聰 friend and my advice to you is to keep that articulate mouth of yours silent.  I know that there are many men in Libya now fighting (on both sides) for what they believe in.  As a Libyan, your heart must be flooded with an overwhelming urge to DO something to take a stand for your beliefs.  You know better than I what Libya needs and I think we both can agree that it is not another martyr.

Having spent over a month in Cote d'Ivoire from mid-December when things were (& still are) very difficult, I got a call from a well-known EU news/media outfit, not sure how they got my CI number.

Wanted me live on air, quizzed me about various things & asked me for my name & where I actually was.

I told them they could use a false name & I wasn't going to indicate where I was to anyone, there were too many informants around & I was putting myself & my Ivoirian friends at risk.聽 I agreed to tell them that I was 130km from Abidjan but not in which direction.

These guys in their nice offices who want people for their shows to boost their audience figures; do they ever give a thought to what's going on, on the ground??

As a result of their pushiness for details I declined from giving any live interview.

Please be careful if you do talk to the press!!!

I think that the more truthful accounts getting out, the better. This is a huge problem we faced in Egypt, too many rumours, it let the international media spin the demonstrations to whatever they wanted!
