Travel to Libya by air
The airline initially refused to issue boarding passes but upon the insistence of the people and their willingness to sign any undertaking for liability to pay costs in case they were returned from Libya, they were allowed to board the flight.
At Benghazi, no one bothered to check even if they had prior visas. In fact there was no one at immigration, the guys went to collect their luggage and just as people were about to leave the terminal building, someone came around with the stamp and stamped all the passports without even checking the passport particulars of any passenger.
There are three flights daily from Benghazi to Tripoli Matiga airport, sometime they add another extra flight or two.
Flights are usually fuly booked so need to arrange booking well in advance or be ready to stay in Benghazi 2-3 days to get the next avaialable flight to Tripoli.
Bon voyage!

Turkish airlines had a daily flights to Mitiga Airport last week .
but no more flights now...
regards ,
i thought there would be a daily flight from Benghazi to Cairo by Egypt air?????? as i wanted to go back to Cairo very soon ,
Thx
I mentioned what the OP said happened with Jordanian to the guy in charge, but he insisted that the Libyan authorities were turning back anyone without a visa and said they were penalizing the airline for each passenger turned back. So if anyone's planning on flying to Libya without a visa, don't.
As far as flights into Libya, there are three airlines flying to Benghazi at the moment: Turkish and Royal Jordanian (daily) and Tunis Air (twice a week). According to google the only flights to Tripoli are Turkish airlines to Mitiga (four a week) and Air Algerie to Tripoli International (twice a week).

There are flight by Libyan airlines to Tunis and Cairo from Mitiga airport as per my information.

You can book online but have to pay at the airline office.

Yep! called them several times, still as uncommunicative as two years ago. We are still operating with word of mouth. Travel agents seem to know more than the embass.. are they called embassies/consulates now? ;-)

I was there last week no visa needed for Turkish citizen.
Visa's are back to normal.
If you needed a visa before, you need one now.
If old visa's are still valid, you can use them. (as long as you exited cleanly - exit stamp)
If you didn't need a visa (Turkish, African nations) you still don't need one, with the exception of Algeria and Mauritania who now need visa's.
Hope that helps.

(The ability to go in on just an invitation letter does seem to be still available, however, some people have had to pay upto 300 USD to get past security - then the company that invited you in has to arrange the visa there and then, so you loose your passport for 7 - 10 days, so not idea)
