6 month multiple exit/entry visa's - Boring I know!
Do I need to get my 10 dinar green triangular stamp put in my passport every time I re enter Libya - some people have said most definitely yes and others don't bother and don't seem to get pulled up on it when they next exit at the airport.
Anybody got an answer on way or the other please?

I've never heard of anyone being permitted to leave without one....
And when you do eventually get your ticket out of dodge and visualise the airbridge for the last time, just make sure you get the right exit visa.

I'm not sure what the official rules are, but my experience is this.
You don't need to get the triangular stamp everytime you re-enter on a 6 month business visa.聽 You only need to get the triangular ink stamps once after your first entry.
So thats it - do I need this every time to get out?
I used to let the Corinthia put one in my passport each time I flew home on Thursday but I stopped since I moved to Palm City and I haven't had a comment the last dozen or so times that I travelled home for the weekend.
the FCO site says this :
Registering with the Libya authorities
All tourists and short stay visitors must register their passports with the police within one week of arrival. This is usually arranged by the company you are visiting or the local travel agency you are travelling with. A fee of LD 10-15 is usually charged for this. Failure to comply with this requirement may lead to you being fined when you come to leave the country.
I think that answers the question.
a) You are not on a tourist visa
b) 6 months multiple is hardly short stay.
I asked at palm city if I could get some kind of temporary residence document to show where I'm staying but they assured me there's no need.
Hope this helps - but it is a very grey subject

Very grey if you ask me. Have a 6 month multiple entry but got pulled last month when leaving. Had to pay a 50LD fine but what really annoyed me was i had to come back out to get a photocopy of passport and got charged 15LD by the guy with the only photocopier in the airport. Photocopier well paid for id say.
My partner, who has a residence visa, only needs to get it stamped on leaving the country, but not on his return.
1 st time in Tripoli: (They were asking for VISA to Turkish that time and i had mine) : 25 days stay : No triangle : reached the plane
2 nd time in Tripoli: as a tourist (without VISA) : 23 days stay : no triangle : reached the plane
3 rd time in Tripoli:聽 as a tourist (without VISA) : 18 days stay : no triangle : reached the photocopy : 50.50 LYD fine : reached the plane
And the best conversation with the Mudir ever:
"one times free, two times free, please Sir, photocopy and pay..."

So i cant really say that there is a formula or regulation about it. We have paid it and hardly caught the plane on time...
Burak,
I have experienced and learned at last why I paid this fine when leaving.
A. get another 60 days to stay or
B. my ACCUMULATED days are only 60 days hence only have 6 legal days left in libya or
C. got to leave by the date where my visa expires or
D. take the next flight home instead.
PR guy at the office says I can't go anywhere but back to Malaysia to reenter Libya, which I think is BS and doesnt make sense at all.
Embassy guy says "accumulated days in Libya is 60 days" which i have doubts. He couldn't get through the Libyan Immigration for confirmation.
p/s: I really don't want to spend my Eid holidays here and need time off.
Anyway, how it works for me (UK resident) is this.
I have a 6 month visa and I can come and go to various contries during the 6 months. Before the last day of validity I have to get out of Libya and renew my visa for another 6 months for which I have to go to the Libyan embassy in London, i.e. in my country of residence.
I would have thought this was fairly standard no matter where you are from.
I guess the answer is : I will have to leave before the 60th day and may reenter on the same visa and will be allowed to stay until it expires.
(The dates on my visa totals up to 3 months and on another section says 60 days.. so i guess its a 3 month exit/entry where maximum days of stay per entry is 60 days.)
Just making sure

Anything between 10 and 50 per day, depending on how hungry the chimp is
