Citizenship can be acquired either by birthright or

as a Commonwealth citizen:聽 after residing and living for 5 years on the island.

If聽 you were born on the island and then moved to SA, you can apply through Jus Soli so long you didn't renounce it,聽 had you been naturalized as a聽 South African on your move there .

If one of your birth parents was born on the island you can apply聽 through Jus Sanguinis ( by descent)

BTW: Buying real estate gives you residency聽 as per聽 but聽 not聽 citizenship聽 unless you are an investor ( a big one )聽 or you have some good vitamin C聽 ( aka good connections with the sitting government聽 no matter which one it is) since it is the prerogative of the sitting PM.
