How long to get a driving licence?

Hello ! We're a family looking to move to Mauritius in August.

As I unfortunately don't have a licence yet I was wondering on average how long does it take to get the permit in Mauritius (assuming I dedicate 1-2 hours per day to the learnings process)? We are currently hesitating between two properties (one that's walking distance from a few restaurants/shops/beach ) another one that is further away and would require a car for the smallest of errands.聽 Knowing how long it can take to get a licence would聽 help us make the decision regarding which house to choose.

Welcome on board !

Anywhere from 3 - 6 months I believe is reasonable. 6 months+ if you fail

It will depend on several factors :

1) How fast you learn

2) Appointments slots (It can take some time 2-3 months to get an appointment and there are several stages where you will need appointments)

3) How well you manage your tests (oral, practical etc)
