Advice on where the best places to live

Hello,

My husband (French) and I (British and Irish) currently live in France and are fast approaching the end of our working lives.

We've been looking at Mauritius as a place to retire to.

As far as I can tell, we'll meet the financial requirements to be able to get a residential visa. We'd be looking to rent and would have around 鈧�1500/month.

We're going on an exploratory holiday in March and are renting a car so we can visit lots of places.

What I'd like is advice on where the best places to live are.

Things to take into account:

Not in a residence/complex

House with a private pool

Garden

Near a town or in a quiet area of a town

Near a beach would be a bonus, but not essential

Is what I'm asking reasonable or am I completely on another planet????
