Hello all,
My ABSA accounts recently have been locked by the bank. It turns out that the bank tried to ask me to update some information by sending a physical mail to an address in HK where even my family doesn't live there anymore. I have no idea what was so important that the bank didn't send me a password protected email instead or any other means to contact me.

Upon finding out the reason, I replied to the bank by email with all the information they asked for and it is over 30hrs already. But my accounts are still locked.

In HK I can go to the monetary authority to report about it. Here I don't know which authority is monitoring banks. Can someone point me in the right direction?

After many emails and phone calls, the account finally unblocked yesterday. But while I was pushing, the bank sent me a bank statement. It showed ZERO balance 馃槺 I nearly had a heart attack from reading it. The statement does not show name/address/account nr. Just I need to use my password to open it. The staff of ABSA don't know why and who sent that. Pretty messy!!
