Considering Mauritius for retirement and looking for NGO

Hi, I am Julius and I live in Canada.聽 My partner Lana and I are considering Mauritius for retirement.聽 We're doing a reconnaissance trip in October/November of this year.聽 Because we're in our early 60's, in good health and energetic, we would like to continue to contribute to society by doing volunteer work for worthy causes.聽 During our visit, we would like to meet with volunteering organizations in Mauritius.聽 Our interests are in the areas of the environmental protection/management and people development.聽 Lana had a career in human resources and I am an environmental chemist by training with a particular interest in water and air quality.聽 We would very much appreciate any information on volunteer organizations in Mauritius.聽 Thanking you in advance!

聽聽This is a brilliant ideal and i will say you should visit first and scan the environment so that your cause can be organic and not something you are recommended to/for... there are many needy cause association from all across the island and which ever part of the island you find yourself you will be able to play your role organically.
