I can't tell you how much it costs because it was paid for by the company. We had a medical for the occupational permits done at the Apollo Bramwell Hospital -
apollobramwell.com. I suggest you contact the hospital. This is not the only place it can be done on the island but the hospital will be able to answer your question about the cost.

Expect around Rs 2-3k depending on the clinic, including x-rays. Bramwell will probably not be your cheapest option.

Wow. Is it really that expensive in the north? I did mine at a private clinic in Quatre Bornes for less than 3,000 - then again, that was a couple of years ago.

that amount was for my wife and I . we were so well treated and everything went so efficiently we did'nt mind the fee.
we are now considering a place to rent. what do you think of pereybere?

Aha, that makes sense.

Regarding where to live, it's really an impossible question to answer, so I'd suggest you start a new thread for that one.

Personally I think both GB and Pereybere is too busy (touristy) to live year round but that's just me.
