Hi All,

I know a job search should be put in the other job search section but this is a question I need advice on

My friend is a Marine Biologist and has been all over the World, she is now living in Italy and would like to come to Mauritius.

Question is:
Where does she find a list of Companies or Charities that would employ a Marine Biologist here in Mauritius?

She has search on the internet but drawn a blank.

Any advice would be appreciated

Maybe she can get a job at the University of Mauritius?

Try Reef Conversation, they employ people with those type of qualifications when they have projects running and also volunteers.聽 She will of course need a permit to work in Mauritius.

Hi Rosiewestie,

Your friend could try contacting the (Mauritius Oceanography Institute), which is under the auspices of the Prime Minister's Office. I recalled this from my own job searches.

Hi Rosiewestie,

I just had a thought: as both the MOI and University are part of the Government, it would be worth your friend checking the latest to see if the potential salaries are high enough for permit purposes.

She is also prepared to do Marine Biology on a volunteer basis as well.

ive been trying to find information on the Environmental Industry relating to my field of Environmental Science and also Contaminated land. Ive struggled to find any information at all, it doesnt seem to exist. The science sector seems to be very much in its infancy or doesnt really exist as far as i can see.

Thanks for all the advice, as luck would have it, I actually met someone who works for the UN at dinner the other evening and my friend has been put into contact with them as they were very interested - so fingers crossed for her and thanks again
