Trip to Mauritius

Hello everyone!

I am graduating soon and thought of going to Mauritius for a week or two. I wanna do it on my own so I am not looking for holidays through travel agencies etc.

I would really appreciate if somebody could help me out in budgeting my trip. I just want to add that I usually travel as a backpacker so Im not into luxuries etc. All I need is a basic bungalow, beach, cheap local food + beer

How much should I have for food per day?
How much should I have for accommodation (e.g.bungalow etc.)?
What about costs of going out?

Would anyone have any recommendations about in which area of Mauritius to stay?

well, seems like its more expensive than I thought....2500Rs for a bungalow per day is around 拢50 if Im not wrong....so let me rewrite my question. What is the cheapest accommodation available in Mauritius around Grand Bay or Pereybere? Im not alooking for a paricular name (unless you know one) but an idea....would it be a hostel, guesthouse, privately rented room or something....

I asked for bungalow cause I used to travel a lot around Southeast Asia and this sort of accommodation was always the best choice! Seems like it may no be the case in Mauritius...

Also as I have written before im planning to go on holiday (backpacking style - may also visit Reunion Island if I manage) so how long would you recommend me to stay? As I said I wanna have a look around, get some tan, have a bit of fun but not get bored by staying too long.

I have also read about pretty much everyone renting a car over there....is ti safe? can you trust the rental company or they will try to make you pay for some "damage" you have never done?

car rental is safe again if need help let me know...

wel bungalow even i knw 1 for Rs 2500 in Grand baie

for cheaper 1 may be need to chk ... bt cant be less den 2000 atmost inGrand baie flic or flac u can get it for like 1500 or even less too /....
