Some landlords are just fine with tenants having dogs (not all and in general it will be specified in ads). I don't think you will have much trouble finding a pet friendly accommodation. Try posting an advert in the Housing in Mauritius section highlighting your needs.
Feel free to look around a bit when you're here before renting long term.
