My fiances (Moroccan Born Female/ 25 Years Old) father passed away and she has a question regarding a male to sign on her behalf during the aadoul marriage process. Her father has passed away, and would prefer not asking another male uncle due to personal reasons. She wondered if it actually essential in moroccan law? to have a male figure to give blessings acceptance of the marriage (waliy el2amr). During the signing of marriage documents with the aadoul (nktb 3akd zwaj) Can we process our marriage without the male figure and instead just her mother?


Question 2. She and me, also wondered if it was possible to not have the aadoul announce the Maher (sda9) if front of anyone and just keep it personal between me / her and the aadoul in a private room. Hi, For point number one it better to ask the adoul directly about this as usually they will ask the uncle to be present. But if you speak with the adoul they can confirm and agree to what you want under their discretion.

point number 2: Yes this is agreed privately however it will be written in the marriage contract certification and the adoul must confirm this with you with witnesses if this is what you agreed. Whatever you have agreed privately is private to you and whatever you have agreed to be shown in the marriage contract is open to everyone.

For example you and your fianc茅 and family might agree to pay zero but for the marriage contract you will say 20,000 dh and it will say that you already paid it.聽
