Motorhome additional driver

Planning taking our motorhome to Morocco in February and taking out local insurance on arrival.聽

I believe only the named vehicle owner can be insured. No additional driver option.聽 Does anyone have experience of this and know if this the case. Thank you. Andy

Hi Andy,

I am sure insurance remains for the vehicle not the driver so doesn't matter who is driving as far as the vehicle is insured. Good luck

Hi andy , where are you from ? where is your vehicle registered/ insured?

a) you cannot bring a foreign registered vehicle into morocco on temp admission if it艣 not insured

b) you cannot insure a foreign registered vehicle in morrocco unless it艣 imported and you have a current address in Morocco

c)If your vehicle is rented in a EU country you will need to sort out insurance with / and persmission of the owner in order to pass customs聽 - and it would be cheaper to rent a vehicle in Morocco and transfer your stuff聽 , eg. if you rented a spanish vehicle rental companies are not happy to rent foreigners their campers to drive them in Morocco, they may make exceptions for locals) so they remove the cover and don麓t give you a written permission to drive the vehicle onto a ferry across the straight...

d) if you are european or are a resident there /and聽 your vehicle is registered in Europe your current聽 vehicle insurance covers Morocco, or it usually does ,聽 your insurance card says what countries are covered, and you may want to buy additional cover form you insurance , if in your country/ country of registration, you聽 have to insure additional聽 drivers seperately then you need to see your insurer.聽 again if you have rented a european camper聽 you may be blocked from entering morocco by the rental company

enjoy your camper holiday
