Yes, it's pretty safe. Plenty of doctors around.
I'd rather go straight to a private doctor if needed.
Which specialist do you need? so that I could give you some names.

I lived there, very pleasant neighbourhood. You have Carrefour nearby, a lots of taxi's pass by and near Tramway route.

You are also not to far away from the old souk/market and Marina.
