Hi all, I wanted share info on a place I rent in Liberte 1. We call it La Maison Rose, or the Pink House! 

It is a full two bedroom house in one of the calmest, friendliest, and most accessible neighborhoods in Dakar.  Only a quick taxi or bus ride from downtown, the house is located at the end of a quiet cul de sac in a lovely middle-class neighborhood that dates back to the 1950s. 

The house is fully furnished with a spacious dining/ living room, full kitchen with stove,   refridgerator, and tons of cooking implements, two spacious bedrooms with double beds, and a bathroom equipped with a shower (with hot water heater for the winter) and chaise anglaise.  Most exciting of all is an enormous prive courtyard/garden with a giant mango tree, other fruit and shade trees, and outdoor dining table. 

In the front yard is a parking area with a gate, where you may park your car in security.   

The rent includes all utilities (water, electricity, and wireless internet) as well as maid service and laundry.  Meals and shopping can be arranged according to interest. 

Ideal for a couple, two couples, or two roommates, the house is truly a gem.  The furniture is simple but comfortable and the property manager who lives on site in a small studio will answer all of your pertinent questions about Dakar.  He is also the owner of a taxi that can be rented for trips within and outside of Dakar. 

For a month, the rent is around 400,000CFA.  Or 20,000/night.  Depending on length of stay, the rent is negotiable.
