Just arrived in Jo'burg

Hi Everybody,

A small topic in order to introduce myself and also to get integrated!!

Young dynamic french rugby player 28 years old, and working for the 2010 FWC I just arrived in Jo'burg last week. As I don't know anyone in the area and do not know the area as well I was wondering if there is any kind of pub or special place where I can easily go out and meet so people for sharing a beer, or organizing some sport session etc etc... I really want and looking forward to join the Jo'burg community and looking for your advices and maybe invitations to join you for Drink!!

聽 I'm an American living here for just a few days shy of 2 years. There are tons of great bars and fun spots to hang out in... What area are you staying in while you're here?

The Baron in Sandton is always quite busy closer to the end of the week - everyone getting a drink and relaxing. MyBar is off on Jan Smuts Ave, another cool bar to hang out and meet people, and there are two clubs in the same building (Moloko and Latinova) which I find fun as well. Moloko is very hip-hop and caters to that sort of crowd, while Latinova is more your general vibey club full of pretty people.
