Rent An Apartment or Open A Bank Account First ?

Good morning friends ,

I plan on moving to Tunis this summer .

Should I open a bank account first ( as a non resident ) or rent an apartment prior? I plan to also obtain a residence permit. Is it easy to change your bank account from non resident to resident?

You should generally rent an apartment first, as proof of a local address or a rental contract is a common requirement for opening most local bank accounts and applying for a residence permit.

As a French citizen, 55 years old , and enough savings to sustain myself financially, can I rent long term before I begin the residency permit process?

Is the process of the carte de sejour complicated and long ?
