I think grasshopper farming is popular,聽 聽you have 2 guys with a net between them on a pole,聽 and then sort the insects and sell to the tastiest ones to the Thai market,聽
insects have a really good protein conversion ratio.

Hello Heiner

I have 40 hectares of land just next to the Siem Reap River in the village of Tapen (10km from Banthei Srei).

Maybe you can go to visite the area and make your own idea?

Hello everyone,

Those looking for land to rent are required to create an advert in the Housing in Cambodia section of the website.

Bhavna

Dear Bhavna,

I agree that opting for a long-term lease agreement ("leasehold") is a secure option for foreigners embarking on a real estate development project in Cambodia. Foreigners can lease land for a period of 50 years, with the possibility of a one-time renewal. This option provides long-term security, but the main drawback is that the entire lease amount is typically required upfront.

Purchasing land in Cambodia is another possibility, but there are some significant restrictions to consider:

1. Partnership with a Cambodian Citizen: You can acquire land through a partnership with a Cambodian citizen. This requires a "Nominee" agreement established with professionals who will be there to protect you, even though it also involves mutual trust and clear contractual arrangements with your Cambodian partner.

2. Full Ownership through a Cambodian Company: In my opinion, this is the most secure option. Foreigners can own up to 49% of the shares in this company, giving you control over the property through contractual arrangements. However, setting up the company requires some capital and may take some time.

3. Cambodian Citizenship: Finally, there is always the option of obtaining Cambodian citizenship... ;-) This is possible but involves a complex administrative and legal process.

In any case, I strongly recommend consulting with real estate professionals and a specialized lawyer to guide you through the process. If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to ask!
