I think that there is a weekly (every Friday morning before Salat Al Djoumou3a) muslim market next to the main Shanghai's Mosque, i heard about it in a Muslim restaurant in Yangpu District..
i'll try to check it out this week, and i'll let you know

been to the muslim market, nothing great really, kinda dirty and its a bit far out ...
there are a few halal kebab restaurants and halal hand-made noodles here but halal butchery? so far i havent seen any unless u go to the muslim market but hygiene is kinda problem in china even in shanghai.
