My name is Karthik, and I’m passionate about exploring new cultures, hidden destinations, and authentic local experiences. I run travel websites where I share detailed guides, itineraries, and practical tips for travelers who want to discover India and beyond.

I have a special interest in helping people plan stress-free journeys — whether it’s budget-friendly backpacking, luxurious honeymoon getaways, or family vacations. Over the years, I’ve researched and written extensively about India’s diverse landscapes, from the serene backwaters of Kerala to the Himalayan escapes in Sikkim, as well as international destinations like Singapore, Thailand, and Malaysia.

What I enjoy most is connecting with fellow travelers and expats, exchanging travel stories, and learning how people adapt to living abroad. I believe every journey, whether short-term travel or long-term expat life, adds a new perspective to the way we see the world.

Looking forward to contributing to discussions, sharing my insights, and learning from the community here.

Cheers,

Karthik

Hello, my name is Peter, a software engineer, team leader and mathematician, working for Ericsson since 20 years. I had the privilege to be on an assignment in India for approx. a year back in 2011-2012, and I plan to return ever since and spend a couple of more years there.

Back then I was stationed in Hyderabad and led a team at TCS as a subcontractor to Ericsson. I was accompanied with my family and got moving support from the company back and forth. It was a real expat experience, just short.

Our 3rd child was actually born in Hyderabad while being there, so interestingly we arrived to India as a family of 4 and left as a family of 5.

I applied for many jobs in India within Ericsson after this assignment, but somehow I could not make it back so far. Hope it was not a one time only chance for me. But if yes, I can accept it, it was wonderful.

If you can help in any way, have any insight I could use, I would be grateful to hear it. My goal is to return to India and work for a few more years, primarily in the IT industry, and contribute to India's economic growth.

I am almost done with my PhD studies in the field of mathematics didactics, although I am not a qualified teacher. Have to submit my thesis in the coming year. Maybe I will have a PhD or very close to it by the time I could be back to India. I plan to bring my wife and the 3rd child with me, the one who was born in India. The other two are adults by now and have their own life.

I have a PAN card and had a multiple entry business visa granted back in 2011, I also got the needed shots but all these expired in the meantime. Except the PAN card which I still have and filed income tax to India for a few years even after moving back.

I shared my linkedin profile on my personal details page.

Cheers and thank you in advance.
