Lovina area referrals to Attorney, Accountant Etc.

I and my spouse are planning to move to near the Lovina area in Bali.聽 We need to learn much more about starting, and running a business (with Balinese ownership), Choosing and obtaining the most relevant Visas (Kitas?) and negotiating and documenting all agreements.聽

I am hopeful that people聽 here can provide referral and contact information for the above listed professionals. It would be very helpful if my use of English is not a hinderance.聽

Thank you for your help.聽

He specializes in expat law in Indonesia

The law in Indonesia is very biased to national.protection . Many expats have been caught out and lost everything.

He speaks excellent English and is available more than others.

Regards Harvey Lee. UK expat

If a foreigner is to be part of the company, start with a Google - PT PMA - and watch out for expensive agents and plain rip-offs.

If it's all Indonesian, see a notaris or go to a kantor hukum (lawyers office) depending on how much money is involved.

I am not sure what you mean by "Caught out".聽 Our intentions are to abide by whatever the regulations are.聽 If the regulations do not fit what we need it will be a problem but I believe we are very flexible.聽

Someone has recommended Legal Legends.聽 Has anyone had dealings with them?聽

Thank you.聽

Thank you. - @Vikings1

I'm guessing he's suggesting foreigners have been duped into buying land through dangerous nominee schemes and been ripped off.

I have never used Legal Legends, but their site warns readers about legally dodgy nominee arrangements, so that's a good start.

Harvey Lee did not mean this statement in a perjorative sense but merely as a warning regarding potential pitfalls in the legal process or being 'ripped off'

I see.聽 I understand.聽 聽Thanks to all who helped me understand the alternative meaning of "caught out".聽 I am most used to thinking "caught" by someone when one is doing something outside the regulations or norms.聽
