Loads of Buddhist temples in the Chinatown area.
If you mean the really old stuff, you can go to Dieng, Wonosobo and Borobudur, Magelang.
Both pretty easy to get to by taking a train to Purworejo from Gambir train station and a bus from there.

Note - Local buses don't meet vehicle safety standards common in more developed countries or most scrap yards.

The air conditioned express buses do but you don't see many of them on the Wonosobo/Magelang route (By "not many", I mean none at all - The roads can't take anything that big) . Travel companies usually have very good mini buses.

Return to Jakarta by either a fight from Jogja or, if in Wonosobo, a AC express bus to Purwokerto and a train from there.

I'm unsure if the Magelang/Jogjakarta road is open yet so I don't suggest you fly down unless you can confirm it is.
Really long run around the volcano effected route.

Many temple and interesting places in jakarta, also many good places for shopping. I think if you want to go to other city, take train from Gambir Station is more safe than you take bus. or you can also take plane but of course it woud be more expensive than you take train or bus. If you are new in jakarta, its better you stay around kuningan/menteng. There are also bar street in jakarta which are many foreigners there: 1. jaksa, 2. kemang.

Ner. I'm a foreigner from England but I don't drink mucky beer and never (Have never and will never) use the services provided by ladies who charge for their horizontal company.
I have no problem with people who like a drink but I dislike seeing them ripped off.
If the OP is looking for adventure, I would suggest staying somewhere like BSD and taking non AC trains into the city each day, walking around from the station.
If she likes a drink in the company of other foreigners, there is an excellent little English pub called "Sevenoaks" in BSD and the train is only Rp1,500 to get pretty much anywhere in Jakarta.
Personally, when I go on holiday, I don't want to spend time in English places, mixing with English people and drinking English food.
I want to experience the country I visit.

You should go to Taman Mini Indonesia Indah
This park is quite huge, synopsis of Indonesian culture, with virtually all aspects of daily life in Indonesia's 26 (in 1975) provinces encapsulated in separate pavilions with the collections of Indonesian architecture, clothing, dances and traditions are all depicted impeccably
They also have a lake with a miniature of the archipelago in the middle of it, cable cars, museums, Keong Emas Imax cinema, a theater called the Theatre of My Homeland (Theater Tanah Airku) and other recreational facilities
I saw yesterday, there is a Klenteng Kong Miao (Kong Miao Temple)
And Museum Fatahilla, history of Jakarta, antique furniture from the 17th century to 19th, which is a blend of European style, People's Republic of China, and Indonesia
Come around 8am, you will find really traditional market (near IPTEK), you can find Indonesian food, some stuff like earphone/food container/clothes etc (like small carnival)

You can try our Nasi Padang (food from West Sumatra) like Sederhana or Jam Gadang
Or Sundanese food like you can go to Bumbu Desa

For Jaksa, I like to go there too, not because of professional ladies, but I feel like in Bali hahaha, a lot of cheaper pub there
Otherwise, for Bar you can also go to Cazbar (mega kuningan), Aphrodite (epicentrum area), De Hooi (pondok indah plaza 2)
Or if you wanna see a bar similar like in Bangkok, just go to Terminal Classic inside Classic Hotel or Malioboro Kota around in Kota (chinatown), but do not go with yourself, too dangerous, go with other expat friends who know this place or Indonesian friends
