My daughter is age 5 almost 6.

My boy is age 1 almost 2.

Both kids were vaccinated as new borns and follow on as required. My daughter mostly vaccinated in Canada (til age 5), my boy had new born shots only in Canada before we moved to PH, where we follow PH vaccine program.

Both vaccine聽 programs are very similar.

My daughter always get a cough, a bad one keeping her up at night, almost monthly, which sometimes requires antibiotics from their pedia.

My boy seems to get over it much quicker without antibiotics. (once one gets sick so does the other).

My daughter also just started pre-k, but the question, purpose of the post goes back prior to her starting pre-k.

What could explain my daughter always getting these minor normal sicknesses so often, in PH. Are antibiotics over used here? Yes, she just did start school (10 plus kids in her class) and is likely exposed to a bunch of stuff.

And yes, noted, kids are now taking a wellness break from school. Is the cold/ flu, common stuff really that bad here in PH?

Hi, my son is 8 years old and gets a cough every 2 or 3 months. My wife (Filipina) also gets coughs frequently. We are living in Boracay. I am Austrian and I get a cough once a year.

Pneumonia is also very common here and the doctors treat it with antibiotics.
