The police can do whatever they want to do here. It's hard to argue with somebody who has a gun and a badge.

Yes.聽 If a wife cheat too, but the crimes have different聽 names. Concubinage and Adultery.
Up to six years in JAIL
If that was followed a big part of the citizens would be in jail聽 聽:)
But if I have understood correct, it need to be reported by the SPOUSE to become a case.

My GF is a Filipina and her annulment cost 200k 2 years ago. Not even filed in court yet. Atty is useless. Took filing fee from us few months back. Says courts are limiting cases. Not sure if that鈥檚 true!?
Such a frustrating process!
We did quite a bit of research on the Atty. Good website, great reviews, seemed very honest and聽 wasn鈥檛 interested in more money - that felt like a good sign.
I don鈥檛 think you can trust any of them, unless you know them personally.

I havent checked any annulment lawyers, just HEARED some tallked about a good one in Davao,
but many lawyers within real estate and business in foreigner point of view are realy crap, claiming they have solition, but they use Dummues to "solve" the Anti-Dummy law!!! Unclear if they are incompetent or scammers.聽
An other messed up when he was suppoused to put lot at a Filipina gf and house at foreigner.

Found two good ones but they are specialiced at environment and human rights.

@onefogarty she can file a case, that is about all that will be done
@jwrock1205 well the fast way to annulment is thru a Muslim court, my brother in law an American divorced his wife, I never really found out how he accomplished it, but he did and is remarried to a another woman, he is not Muslim so I have no idea how this works but I know it worked for him, maybe contact a Muslim lawyer, I know their laws differ from Filipino law, and is recognized

Sorry to hear of your problems. Never pay the entire fee up front. Pay as it goes. We paid a small flat fee up front,, maybe 50K, and have paid for all the attorney fees as it progresses - court appearances, document fees, witness hearings, time for consultations, etc. I did give him 25K extra after the pandemic which stalled things for two years, just to be fair to him. It has taken several years, but we're barely in it for 200K and it's almost done.

The problem occurs when folks try to shortcut the process or hire a less than honest attorney. I have a good one and we are following the process.聽 Things happen slowly in the Philippines. And no, I will not post his name on here. If you are a regular contributing member, living in the Philippines, who is in need of a good attorney, PM me.
