If you should try to collect, they will probably turn you down saying you had the Flu or the hospital stay wasn't required.

Is this mandated by the airline? If not it's just another add on of overpriced insurance to make more profit for the airline/insurance company.

Just like the self service life insurance machines in the past sold at airports incase the plane will crash.

Just like a insurance company selling Cancer insurance. Or how about you lose your right eye and left leg you also collect.

I'll give you a deal, just pay me $50 for 60 days coverage and a 100k coverage for any hospital stay.

this is what is required per ITAF./Nograles ...

鈥 Travel insurance for COVID-19 treatment costs from reputed insurers, with a minimum coverage of $35,000 (about P1.75 million) for the duration of their stay in the Philippines.

鈥淚t鈥檚 the (insurance) coverage, that鈥檚 not the price, that鈥檚 not the premium you pay. The premium is much, much cheaper. Maybe the premium (required) by reputable insurers that have that coverage is around P1,000 to P2,000,鈥 Nograles said at a media briefing.

Travelers must also present an acceptable proof of COVID-19 Vax Card vaccination, including the World Health Organization鈥檚 International Certificate of Vaccination and Prophylaxis, VaxCertPH, national/state digital certificate of the country/foreign government which has accepted VaxCertPH under a reciprocal arrangement and other proof of vaccination permitted by the IATF, Nograles said.

He said travelers are no longer required to observe facility-based quarantine but shall self-monitor for any symptom for seven days, with the first day being the date of arrival.

Lol... Nice Bob... 馃愤馃徎 馃槃.聽 I would normally NOT get ANY travel insurance... and never did in the past.聽 I have good medical already... However with the trip interruption benefits, I did this time... only because of the current situation... and volatility of travel... The added covid coverage I did not even realize I needed until Philippines added that requirement to enter... Anyways... Cheers... I leave Tuesday.

Trip interruption benefits is a good thing with the uncertain constant changing times.

A trip interruption benefit would be good, especially for a refundable throwaway exiting ticket You simply cancel your exit ticket and get the fare refunded?聽 Hopefully.

Yes... Thats why I opted in this time... the covid insurance part was a bonus... Yes, agree... everything is a little crazy now... so 179 bucks was cheap insurance if it turns out bad.

Speaking of insurance, does anyone know of a reputable company in the 鈥榩ines that not just sells homeowners insurance but honours that commitment if an insured home is damaged in a 鈥 drumbeat 鈥 typhoon or similar catastrophic event.
