I use this for understanding simple messages I receive online, but to reply I use thai dictionary (Paiboon publications) which is more accurate than online. I certainly don't recommend google translations because for simple english/french is very often nonsensical.
I'm afraid some knowledge of thai will be necessary in order to make translations. In the case of what you ask to translate some notion of the context in which the message applies would be necessary.

P.S. if you move to Thailand learn Thai you will never regret it. Outside of expats and tourist spots nobody speaks English and the richness of the culture can only be experienced by some capacity to communicate with the locals.

I have been chatting to a lovely lady for a while now and if I use simple English words the message is received very clear. Grammar is not all that important as most Asian countries speak with broken English'
