My Thai wife has just received a tax refund in the form of a crossed check and it is in her name she doesn鈥檛 have a uk bank account she is in Thailand and am enquiring if she would be able to deposit it in her Thai bank account.

Which Thai bank? I know that Bangkok Bank used to process foreign checks,from for example US and UK. I don't know which exchange rate they are聽 using,probably a crappy one + a fee.
