In my long & frustrating experience .....certainly if you live in an apartment not easy, you need a phone contact number, or if you are lucky it will go to the security gate & just keep checking there.

I sympathize, however, based on what it seems you are saying:

There is an inevitable trade-off of sorts whenever certain choices are made.

In Vietnam, If you choose to live without a phone and you choose to live somewhere off the grid or in a living situation that can't be translated into a mailing address, then you've unfortunately chosen to make it virtually impossible to directly receive a simple stamped envelope (mail) from either domestic or international sources.

If I've correctly deciphered your post, your best option is probably going to be finding a trustworthy friend to receive mail on your behalf.
