  The OP did not specify but if the father is in Hanoi, its pretty unlikely that he will travel to HCM just to cooperate.

Hopefully 1) the OP can tell us which city or province, and 2) some expat will have experience beyond this one listing. I think the British Embassy/Consulate unfortunately stopped notarizing a while ago.

Hi Everyone
I’m looking for a Notary that can witness a signature on a document.

i used to live in Vietnam and married a Vietnamese lady. We are all now living in the UK. I’m trying to adopt my step daughter. The UK court have produced s translated form of consent for the birth father to sign, a Vietnamese national living in HCMC. It needs to be witnessed by a notary.

I can find services to notarise documents, but I need someone with notary to witness it.

Anyone know or such a person, service? Many thanks

Hello paulroche. If the child's father is cooperative, notarization services are available at courthouses in VN.

Once the VN father has signed, the notary there will then stamp the papers as being notarized and acceptable to the courts.

In VN, if the document contains multiple pages, the pages submitted to be notarized will be spread fan-like, and a single stamp is made on the exposed edge of each. The partial stamp imprint on each page can then be, for verification, realigned/reconstituted.

I helped a fellow expat 3 or 4 years back with a similar situation to yours.
