Only if the mother agrees to sponsor you AND if the government accepts your legal status as the father.

Without the voluntary assistance of the mother, it will never happen.

We had a very exhaustive thread on this subject 5 or 6 years ago, but I can't locate it now.

The child is not able to sponsor you.

This is correct unless the child is either 18 or 21, I can't remember which.

At 18 years (the age of majority).

This topic was touched on in the thread, "Upon the passing of an expat's VN spouse...?", post #6.

The answer is聽 crude, but true. This is a bout "sponsorship", who will be responsible to care you. Minors obviously cannot. Of course if your child's mother accept to support you, she as the legal tutor can swear and complete the dossiers.聽 The terrible problem is how impossible is to expect people working in public offices understand their own procedures. Surely here a lot of expats could tell bad experiences with paperworks, from to get a simple Home Registration or finding a Notary that wont ask for translating your passport. Therefore, if you have some money for an "agent" and a lot of time to wait for your TT Visa (2weeks without your passport) the only thing you can is to do visa runs as Tourist
