Probably because it is such a rarity. No rich Vietnamese woman would want such a person as a partner and would mix in social circles which would not include聽 poor foreigners.
Maybe other members could enlighten you.

I know of 3 cases in which rich *or* influential foreigners married rich *and* influential Vietnamese women.聽

As Stupy said, likes attract likes.

So percentage wise it looks like either side of the equation is such very minor number as to be insignificant.

I know of one case in Australia, but she married just to get there, as part of her "business plan".

I heard last year that the going rate for an "arranged marriage" to an Australian for the purpose of becoming聽 an Australian passport holding sheep botherer is currently 10,000 USD.

In Australia, how many rich women marry poor men?聽 I am of the opinion that men are deluded to believe that they choose their mates.聽 Women by and large choose who they will marry and generally strive to marry up.聽 This is true in every culture outside of those that have arranged marriage.

My wife and I are well matched because we are both poor.聽 聽:joking:

Edomatt- I was offered $10,000 more than 15 years ago. I declined. Price is now $30,000. An old friend of mine in Oz married an 'economic migrant' who had been sponsored by a Viet kieu and is still happily married after 30 years.

In Hawaii the price is $30,000 although often the fee is paid by the person's US relatives.聽 I have also known of US women marrying Viet men for the lump sum with the intent to divorce later.

Nah, not true. My own story about marrying a Vietnamese lady is a big win for both of us.

Four years ago I聽 was offered 70k AUD, mind you,聽 I聽 am an extremely handsome alpha male.
