Closing Threads

Wxx3

When the people on this forum put effort and even heart into their replies to an OP, I think it's only fair that when a thread is requested to be closed by the OP, we get some reason.

E.g. "OP requested this thread be closed because he decided we were all fools" or something like that.

          Same, same..?

..who knows what goes on in the minds of mere men..?

..but I would suggest Ciambella nailed it in her accurate assessment...

Personally, I feel for the moderators

How would you feel at the loss of all that advertising..?      :sosad:

Besides, even OP's have rights to intrigue too..?

Be happy: he got his answers (and a few serves too)

..as for us..?     We need more dramas!!

Vietnam gets its share of closed threads, mostly because people are very naughty on that section of the forum.
Funny, ner, very funny, but also naughty.

Closing is all but guaranteed when head and Richard are typed in the same sentence because the chances of a serious bunfight are way too high.

Does the same happen if you mention Richard Cranium?

In the case referred to, it's being closed AND deleted.

That seems to be a rare occurrence.

Though I don't really blame the guy for asking.

I wouldn't want that paper trail out there for public eyes to see.

Curious: Can I have every post I've ever created deleted?

I hardly matters how posh you are, the result is roughly the same.

Closing threads should not be the prerogative of the OP.  If he/she no longer wants to participate or receive notifications, they can click on the avatar on their top right corner of the page, go to the drop down for subscriptions, and unsubscribe from the thread if they so choose.

The state of the thread comes into play. If it's become a bunfight with insults, fair chance the request will be treated in the same way as a reported post.
