From Sept 1st, anyone arriving into Vietnam will have to pay聽 for the mandatory聽 14 day quarantine costs.
Read the last paragraph on the report.
Ridiculous if you ask me

Ridiculous if you ask me
Statistic notwithstanding, I'm certain you would not think all the prevention strategies are ridiculous if you or your loved ones belong to the unfortunate 1% group.
People keep saying there are more deaths in the US from the flu virus than from Covid, but according to the CDC, there were 34K people died of the flu during the 2018-2019 flu season, while there are 189K deaths due to this virus just in the last 6 months so far.
Let's ask the families of those 189K people how they think of the prevention and see how many of them say it's ridiculous.

Tobacco kills many more people, but no problem, Vietnamese are still encouraged to smoke more and more!
BigTraveler wrote:Tobacco kills many more people, but no problem, Vietnamese are still encouraged to smoke more and more!
Nobody encourages Vietnamese to smoke.聽 They smoke because they want to, not because there are adverts saying smoking is cool, or because the price of cigarettes is affordable to all.聽 In fact, the annual "Life without Smoke" campaign in Hanoi has attracted more participants every year.聽 Last year, over 1000 people marched around Sword Lake to show their attestation against cigarette smoking, a much larger crowd than the penultimate year.
Approximately 40k deaths in Vietnam every year are recorded as related to cigarette smoking.聽 If there were an encouragement to smoke as you said, didn't you think the number would have been much higher?
Ha. Ha.聽 Stop thinking so highly of yourself and your opinion.
Vietnamkid wrote:The Vietnamese government doesn't care if you think their handling of Covid-19 is ridiculous.聽 Your opinion is only important to you and not to them.聽 No matter how highly you think of yourself and your opinion on the matter, the VN government along with numerous other world governments have qualified scientists advising them.聽 They don't take shutting their countries down and harming their economies lightly.聽 But gee, your opinion and available knowledge is so much more brilliant than the though they have put into dealing with this.聽 You are a genius and the VN government is just a complete bunch of dummies.聽

Nobody has any idea of who you are replying to. Have you heard about the quote function on here?
Vietnamkid wrote:(in reply to Colin) Yes, I have heard of the quote function.聽 Didn't realize you were the forum police.聽 I hope it annoys you further that I am not going to use it.聽 Perhaps, you should let go of your need to control what others do.聽 Without using the quote function, I think people have a fairly good idea who I am replying to.
What a punk. Get lost. We don't need you offending respected Forum members here. We all want to see this thing work well with good communication, and if you can't accept a friendly reminder from a highly respected forum member then your participation is not welcome

Fantastic. It's obvious you are some type of rebel.

And it's obvious he doesn't respect the input of others.
He got great replies to this thread he created and never responded further in the thread.
Great way for him to get forum members to recommend him, if and when he ever relocates here and attempts to offer his legal services
Now this loophole may be strictly geared towards business people and experts coming into the country for a specific job or buisness deal.聽 It really doesn't say.聽 Because it says "allowed to enter" leads me to think it's more directed towards the business and expert field.
Also it's wierd that it's in an article about paid quarantine in hotels but these people would expressly avoid that quarantine.聽 Strange.
Those foreigners who are allowed to enter Vietnam and who will stay in the country for less than 14 days will not be subject to collective quarantine but they have to strictly adhere to COVID-19 prevention rules.
That includes food and testing.
IamCharlie wrote:How much does it cost for the quarantine? I tried checking the article but couldn't find anything
On the opposite side of the spectrum in the post above which doesn't surprise me for the upper end the goverment just announced today the cost of sate run quarantine is $5.10 USD per day.聽 So, a huge range.
IamCharlie wrote:Wow, that's still a crazy amount since accommodation is so cheap in Vietnam
They don't approve you to stay in cheap hostels or in motels that don't provide services.
If you are going to be in full quarantine in a hotel, they want to make sure that all of your needs are met.
A little while back there was a list of places in Ho Chi Minh City and they ranged from about $40 USD a night to $250 USD a night, in line with star ratings.
However, since then most of the locations have ceased participating in the program.
I know because I was calling down there and talking to them with the thought of possibly heading directly to Ho Chi Minh City from Danang.
Thd numbers everywhere are being Inflated dramatically for covid , it's a hoax
If my 90 year old grandmother passed away from covid I'd be sad but I wouldn't expect the world to be locked down because of it
Our freedoms and rights must come first , if we were talking Ebola or an actual serious pandemic then maybe I'd understand
This is all a scam
SergGugu wrote:The problem is that it is not only the 90 years old who died....lots of 50 to 60 years old have died in america.....and their time was not up yet......a little bit of compassion would not hurt.....
The majority of people who are dying already had existing medical issues. Covid is like the straw that broke the camels back.
The numbers drops off dramatically under 70 years old
This is a scam
In China,聽 a country with 1.4 billion people they have only 4000 Corona deaths
Tell us all about the 3 people I know that died of corona .
In America they are inflating numbers and labeling everything u der the son as corona , including car crash and cancer deaths.
Please find alternative sources for I fo other then the dishonest main stream outlets.
SergGugu wrote:So if u are 50 or 60 years old and you have heart problem it is ok that you die early because of the virus someone gives you?.....

Anyone who's following the official position of the Vietnamese government in news releases will have seen that they are making a point of saying that the vast majority of deaths from COVID-19 were people with multiple comorbidities/pre-existing conditions.
Not a heartless position to take, it's just the facts.

So i dont know how u can say the average death is 85 years old....
And i hope you are not older than 34 years old...
WE drive with seatbelt,we follow speed limit,we dont smoke wherever we want because we live in society and our liberties stop when we infringe in someone else liberty..wearing a mask does not kill anyone and if people working in the hospital can work 12 hours shit with a mask..we can wear one when we go out....have a good day..

I don鈥檛 know if that鈥檚 true everywhere, but I had a look at the published numbers of the biggest hospital in my area (I鈥檓 stuck in Switzerland), and it鈥檚 true that very few of the deceased were younger than 60, even fewer under 50. However, and I think that鈥檚 very important, some of the survivors spent days or even weeks in the ICU, they were on respirators聽 and all kinds of treatments, and a lot of them just barely made it. There are also reports of people with permanent damage. But even if you heal completely, spending time in the ICU is no joke, I wouldn鈥檛 wish to anyone. So I think Vietnam has done the right thing, I think the numbers speak for themselves, if you look at them objectively.
This is the article about the first commercial flight allowed in.
That paragraph makes it sound as if everybody goes into a centralized isolation facility and then the 5-day magic number is an opportunity to move out of there to one of the other choices, including a hotel.
So if that's correct, nobody gets to go directly to a hotel...
This is a worldwide hoax , the globalists are testing their control systems and you people who buy into.it are just as guilty as them
