4. Pretty much anyone that is "there" [here] has been there for close to two years, save a handfull of new arrivals, so not as many stupid questions.

5. I don't think there are many PC problems but I don't tend to be a pot stirrer. [Little need for corrective action]

6. Even the old trolls that came back with multiple accounts have finally gotten bored.

7. No new people in Vietnam to help with teaching jobs, best hospital, where to buy large shoes.

8. Everyone here is stuck where they are, so not asking about moving to Quy Nhon every week.

9. Ciambella left = no knowledge to gain, no purpose for being.Ìý :(

10. Finding more action in Facebook Groups & r/vietnam & dreamy YT videos of Bali, Thailand, Oaxaca.

What ever happened to Ciambella? I always enjoyed her comments.

Threads such as this (how it has unfolded) contributed partially to her decision to do other things with her time.

Speaking of which, have any of you seen the new series of YouTube videos coming out of Myanmar.Ìý ÌýThey have a rotating cast of cuties who take you around Yangoon to street food restaurants and the like.Ìý You know the genre. You only need to watch one because if you have seen one, you have seen them all.Ìý

I have no real evidence but I am fairly suspicious that they are being supported by the military junta to give the country a better face.Ìý No mention of the Rohingya and genocide in the Rakhine State.

Well having moved away from the city air, noisy street with drunks and karaoke, gansters and boredom, I can say that the tennis courts, basketball courts, badminton courts along with the pools, lake, fishing, artificial beaches, BBQs cleaner air and the only noise is from children playing is equal to any resort I've ever been, so I no longer pine for such placesÌý :D:top:

Oh did I mention the view? can see for kms and kms clear blue sky mixed in with green fields,,, hahahaha

Yes! one of those videos beckoned me, on the very day Suu Kyi was sentenced to 4 years, so I asked the girl what she thought about that, being in Burma and all.
And you know what?Ìý :/Ìý She deleted my comment.Ìý :o

Do you really think that little cutie deleted your comment?Ìý ÌýShe is probably totally clueless about politics.Ìý Her job is to be eye candy.Ìý More likely that censorship job was undertaken by a junior NCO in the Myanmar military.

Getting back to the OP (as I am such a stickler aboutÌý :offtopic:Ìý postingsÌý ;) ), if you want to see a Vietnam based forum that was killed by over-moderation, take a look at the Vietnam page on Dave's ESL Cafe Ìý It used to include lively and often well written discussions of both teaching and general life in Vietnam type topics until it was killed by a moderator with the web name of Mr. Kaigushki.Ìý He chose to clamp down on what had been an existing but unenforced rule against posts of over 300 words.Ìý ÌýI was banned myself after making a post of 295 words, which I checked by putting the text into MS Word to count it before posting.Ìý I suppose Kaigushki figured that I was taunting him, which I was.Ìý Ìý:cool:Ìý

The forum is still there but its last post was 26 April 2020.Ìý In fact since Kaigushki posted a reminder about the 300 word limit on 19 March 2018 along with a threat to ban members, there have been only 46 posts.Ìý ÌýThat was about 3.75 years ago.
