I expect that you will be reading before long.聽 Just riding around on a motorbike 聽 聽exposes you to a lot of commercial signage.聽 I know that I fairly quickly learned a fair number of words that I have no idea how to pronounce, but you will figure them out right away.聽 聽It's pretty much a list of nouns. but for you it should expand quickly.聽 The University of Hawaii teaches a one semester course in reading just for second generation young people like yourself. Before long you will be writing letters to your parents in Ti岷縩g Vi峄噒.

By the way your English skills seem pretty solid too.聽 You may find the fellows in HCMC fairly persistent but it's likely that they want to speak English with you and not French.聽 One of my English teachers was a Viet-French young lady who found it easier to find work teaching English.聽 聽Good luck in school.
