Business conventions in the Dominican Republic

Another super-specific question: when someone in the DR says "24 business hours," is that equivalent to when someone in the US says "3 business days"?

(I think we're all already aware that different cultures have different approaches to time, so no need to bring that up, at least on my account -- I just want to make sure I've understood the stated/explicit meaning of this concept corrrectly.)

I have never heard 24 business hours.聽 I wonder if that's a bad translation?

Regardless if it's 1 business day or 3 business days they will still be late! 馃ぃ馃ぃ

I've never heard 24 business hours, but I was told something here - can't remember what - would be resolved in 47 hours. Not 48, not within 48 hours, I was told I would get a response in 47 hours! 馃ぃ Needless to say, it was well beyond 47 hours!

One thing I do know, when someone says something will be done "ma帽ana", that just means not today - it does not mean tomorrow!

I realize time is er elastic.

I was just curious whether there might be some convention that I was unfamiliar with behind the phrasing -- just in case 24 hypothetical working hours didn't mean three hypothetical working days, that would be good to know \_(**)_/
