Santiago vs Sosua/Puerto Plata

Harry19076

In the Sosua and Puerto Plata area, it appears that a co-signer is not an issue or a big issue.  How about living in Santiago?  Is a co-signer normally required in Santiago?  I have been told that if new arrivals do not have a co-signer in places where one is required , they have to pay at least six month of rent in advance, is this statement true?

Thank you
Harry

You mean a fiador or guarantor. They are often available for the cost of one month rent.

It is the normal in Santiago and Santo Domingo!
