Good Day for all

Am not pretty sure what to do should i rent a car or hire some one to visit different places in Las Terrenas
I drive for more than 20 years but what is your suggestion?

I always use my credit card that includes auto rental insurance. I do not pay the extra insurance fees.

Before relying solely on your credit card for insurance, call your bank who has issued the credit card and find out what is not covered. You do not get full protection. If you have auto insurance in your home country you may be covered by that as primary insurance.

It might be helpful if you tell us how long you are staying in LT for your vacation and wherabouts is your hotel/apartment. The town is quite small and a quad may be a better option for getting around town and for any distant excursions such as whale watching or Limon waterfall you book an excursion in town.

You may find the idea of using a quad extreme for your age but you will see many a retiree doing the same. They suit the narrow streets full of motorcycles and scooters better and can be hired easily when there.

so I am thinking to use SHARED TAXIS OR PONCHOS MOTORBIKE TAXIS
a聽 MOTOCONCHOS and MOTORBIKE are the same?

i will be at calle duarte i went online found quad are more expensive than small car i will be for 3 week
what u mean by {can be hired easily when there.} mean i can hire someone one for my transportation?

A quad can be hired all in for 40usd a day or less all in, and you will find places renting them on Duarte. You wont hire even the smallest car with good insurance cover and taxes for less.

Duarte is the road from Sanchez at entrance to town to the beach so depending on location you could be in walking distance or a long way from the beach. If you are close to the beach you will be within walking distance of supermarkets, banks, restaurants, pueblo de pescadores and beaches and wont need a car.

And a motoconcho will cost you 100 pesos maximum anywhere in town. ( motorbike ride)

Having read your numerous posts and questions my advice is to pre arrange a taxi tranfer to and from the airport online to your lodgings in LT.

Once there you can quickly assess if you need much transport around town and decide if motoconchos will suffice or a quad might be good for when you want to go visit Playa Bonita and Playa Coson. You can also go to the agencies in the centre of town and plan a few excursions to Salta Limon, Parques de Los Haitises, Las Galeras/Playa Fronton or Whale Watching in Samana Bay.

My recomendation is if you plan to rent a car, make sure of the reputation of the rent car,聽 here there are so many places called rent car that can be a nightmare for you, about the insurances make sure to be covered of everything, if you do not want to do it like that better hire a taxi to take you where you wants.
