Voting Requirements in the DR?

Hey, everyone.聽 In this post I am only asking this simple question:

Are voters (citizens) in the Dominion Republic required to show an official (governmen-issued) ID before they are allowed to vote?

No politics.聽 No hidden agenda.聽

If anyone could also provide a link to a DR website that states a requirement, either way, it would be very much appreciated.聽

Why am I interested?聽 I'm simply doing personal research.聽

Thanks
Jim

Your cedula is your national ID and what you use to vote.

Those who are not citizens have a cedula that clearly states non voting.聽

Sorry no idea where to find this in writing and no time to look.
What Planner says is correct.

What you could do is borrow a cedula and try to vote with it.聽 Let us know how that goes lol.

Thanks, Planner and angarci1.聽 聽

LOL!聽 No, I'm not trying to figure out how to vote there.聽 My cedula clearly says NON-VOTING!!聽

I just keep hearing from certain friends in the USA how "racist" voter ID requirements are.

Yet, the vast majority of nations in the world actually do require government-issued photo IDs to vote in ANY election.聽 聽Including the DR, apparently.聽

Hah.聽 Imagine that.

Yes the racism part comes in with access to that ID or specific requirements to get the ID.

Here everyone gets a cedula. Period.

Denise and I have cedula's and we carry them with us wherever we go. It is our DR national identification. In the US there is no national ID card (that would be too "socialist" for some, or some nonsense). The suggestion to require one for the sole reason for voting is maybe the issue. You can throw gerrymandering in their as well. I am sure you know what I am saying here without really saying it.
