Vaccines required in Panama

Hello everybody,

When living or moving abroad, and in particular in Panama, vaccination against certain diseases is often required to enter the country or to avoid risks.

We would like to ask you a few questions to help future expats there.

What is your relationship to vaccines in general?

Did you get vaccinated before moving to Panama?
Were these vaccinations compulsory or recommended?

Did you refuse to get any vaccine that was recommended for Panama? If so, why?

If you are an expatriate in Panama, are you encouraged to get a COVID-19 vaccine? Do you have access to the vaccine and do you plan to get it?

Is this vaccine required for entering the country now?

Many thanks,

Diksha,

They never asked for proof of any vaccines before becoming a permanent resident.

My son and I moved to Panama in November 2019, and took no vaccines.聽 At that time none were REQUIRED, simply suggested. The reason was the lack of availability in our state, as well as surrounding areas. We are in the city, and take proper precautions, but the city is relatively safe.
I was not asked for any vaccine documentation upon entrance to Panama, but now you must have a negative CoVid test for entrance. Do not trust that the tests will be available at the airport here, as I have heard through gossip only, and have no first hand knowledge of this.

I was misled, if not outright lied to about various topics in regards to living here. And, THAT IS NOT DIRECTED AT THIS SPECIFIC WEBSITE. If you would like to chat, I would not be opposed to privately discussing these things.

If CoVid vaccines become required, I will refuse. But, I have not heard anything about it and I must visit my array of specialists every 3 weeks. None of my doctors have said anything about it.
