   As far as I know nothing much has changed since that video.

I'm not aware the permanent resident status expires... hence the name "permanent".

The details of the naturalization process are outlined on the immigration's website at:



And yes you'll need a lawyer in order to prepare and submit all the paperwork involved in the process.

On my Carne de Residente Permanente it has Expira: 17-JUN-2023.

So can I just renew it?

Yes you just need to renew it



Nationals' cédulas expire and need to be renewed as well.
