Friedrich Fr枚ebel Bilingual School in Aguadilla and SESO in Mayaguez are both great schools and accredited. My wife and I researched and visited them both recently while on the island. As far as renting, it all depends on what town you wish to settle in. Aguadilla is close to the airport and has a lot of industry (jobs). So if you are headed there, you should aim for the Ramey area or Isabela near Jobos. Both are super safe and have tons of places to eat, shop, swim, etc. Clasificadosonline.com is a good site to find a rental. Best of luck!

No public schools really are bilingual.聽 You'll have to pay for private schools and it cost more for a private school here then to send you child to college here.

Imo not worth the money.聽 I would consider homeschool and when you child is 17 they can apply for their 4 yr certification.

I am in your exact situation. We are moving to Isabela from PA. I have a 9 year old son. I also lived in NYC for 10 years btw. My boyfriend is from Queens and he is looking into shipping his 4 runner from one of the ports there. As far as schools I picked Fr枚ebel Bilingual, out of all my research it seemed like the best and most reasonably priced. Yes private school will cost you extra money but what they cost in PR is way less than what they cost here. Less than most summer camps per month in States, let's put it that way. At Froebel they also have some kind of free program where they will take your child out of PE or Health and tutor them to learn Spanish, definitely a plus for my kiddo. Foresta in Rincon was another school I was looking at because I loved the hippy/arty vibe. But ultimatly it was too far from where we will be and a little bit more money.聽 Rincon is where a lot of Expats move but it's overpriced in my opinion. You can get a lot more in towns like Aguada, Aguadilla, Isabela and Anasco. I hear even Camuy and Quebradillas are nice. I am also moving with 2 dogs and a cat, my dogs are service dogs so I am able to keep them in the cabin with me. Cat is small enough to be in carry on as well. Also if ANYONE is interested, I was thinking of starting an Expat Support group for woman. So we can all pull together and help each other with the challenges that we are gonna face. Does anyone know any good neighborhoods near there that are safe to rent? It will be my daughter and I.

Hello again everyone! I just spoke to the Fr枚ebel Bilingual school and they said they do not have space for my daughter (entering 9th grade). They only have space for their online school but she and I want her to go in person so we will look at other schools.

@JessicaMaria Hello! If you want your daughter to receive the best education possible, SESO in Mayag眉ez is the best school in all of western Puerto Rico. Keep in mind that it is not bilingual, it is all-English. MASIS in A帽asco is bilingual but offers mostly everything in English. WALKS in Mayag眉ez is bilingual 50/50. Inspiration Christian Academy is an all-English Christian school in Cabo Rojo. In the northwestern area, the only all-English school is Carib Christian School. I suggest you to look at these five schools specifically. Hope this helps!
