F Card after expiry

Freysoltani

Hey guys I am new to the forum, and my Google searches lead me here,

So here is the deal, I came to Belgium on January 2022, Family reunion as I was married to EU National who lives in BL ,

Long story short she kicked me out after she got pregnant with our daughter..

Since then I found myself a place to live and had to change my adress , after living in my car for a while .. luckily I am working since I came to the country .. after one tear living separate she filed for divorce and we got divorced .. now I go see my daughter every friday and I provide for my child .. I am a third national and my daughter got Dutch Nationality like her mom..

I hhaven't been contacted by Belgian foreign affairs I was traveling and coming in the country still using my F Card..

I don't know now what would happen, my question is what kind of card should I apply for after the expiry.. is there any way that they might refuse ?

I am afraid I wouldn't see my daughter anymore .. I dont wanna live here illegally..

Kindly advise.. anyone had the same experience?

I believe that you can apply for card L or card K.. since renewing card F or asking for F+ can't be satisfied in your case without living with your daughter nor your ex!

For card L or card K.. you need to keep working all the time .. so to show them that you are able to live without support from gov.

I advice you do consult the foreigner office and do your appointments properly priorly of the expiration of your card F otherwise you might lose the continuity of the residency for the nationality request.

So be prepared with all your comptes individual and salary slips.. Usually you can apply for card K or L as soon as you complete 5 years of your residence request and/or your orange card with EU citizen which resulted on positive application. or before 6 months from the expiration of your F card.

Application will take ~5 months to get approved from Brussels.. and if you are lucky and convinced your commune .. they might do exceptions for you... I got approval for my wife in 4 working days.

Good luck
