5 years of uninterrupted work - Citizenship

Liwane

Hi,

Can being on temporary leave due to economic unemployment 37 days during a 5 years career (chômage économique) affect the requirement of 5 years of uninterrupted work for Belgian citizenship eligibility?

Thanks in advance for your advice,

5 year of interrupted work covers the language requirement, so you’ll have to prove/show the language requirement by another means. But always best to check with your commune as they can assess your case and better advise you before submission.

if you obtained your diplomas within the 5 years  prior the citizenship application, you can justify the language social and economic integration requirement with your degrees.
