Nationality question

Edigj

Firstly sorry if the question has been asked in the past.
My situation is as below:
Arrived in BE in 2015 on student visa.
On 2017 I got married to my now wife(Belgian citizen) while I stayed in A card as I was still studying at that time.

In Mid 2018 as soon as my wife got a job we submitted the request to change my status from student to F card(Family member of Belgian or EU citizen which was approved and I received F card in December 2018.
While I was waiting for my F card approval from foreigner's office my A card expired and I  had to apply for Orange card and then Orange Card expired as well and I had to apply for annexe 15 just to cover the 10 day period until F card was being produced after they approved.
Now as I have already 5 years in Belgium and I fulfill other Nationality conditions as well I wanted to ask  for Belgian citizenship but my commune is insisting that all the A card are fine and Orange card as well but 10 day period on annexe 15 is not taken into consideration. They told me I have to wait  more years in order to apply as annexe 15 is not taken into account.
They consider it as interruption even thought I can easily prove that I was working since 2 years and I was in Belgium.
Sorry for the long post but, I would appreciate if anybody with similar situation can advise. I would appreciate if you could suggest any legal action possible.
Thanks in advance

Hi,

Like all over the world, state officials do not always interpret the laws the right way. As a result, a point of detail can always be discussed.

The easiest way is to contact this organization.

For me, the problem comes from your years of study which normally do not fall within the five years of professional presence.

phipiemar, Thank you for you message!
Actually the commune did a extract of civil registry and they confirmed that my years of study do count the only problem is with the gap with the Annexe 15. I've read the nationality code and it only says uninterrupted stay. If does not states in details.
You were right as the law can be interpreted differently by different officials.
I've tried to reach ADDE even before but their phone is always busy and they never respond to the emails.

So long absence duration are under 6 months and fully jusitified, there is no issue.

ADDE, sorry but you're not the only one who needs them. So be patient, they are not only at your services...

Otherwise, you know old fashion is also very interesting. Go to their offices...
