A bit more info on my post.聽 Seriously confused!聽 Unless I am totally misunderstanding, I have been asked to pay for a week if they go round 2 days or for overnight, for 2 days because they go round twice in one day.聽 Help!!!

If I lived nearby, I'd be happy to do it simply for the pleasure - but sadly, we live a long way from you...I hope you get it sorted!

Thanks for that

Wow, wherever I've lived, we have asked our neighbours to feed our animals, and as a thank you, we have given them a gift, often from the area we had visited. We would do the same for them. Money never changed hands. Of course, the owner provided the food.

Autre temps, autre m艙urs.....

My good friend who is in Bulgaria but lice鈥檚 in Dubai, was surprised my neighbours would charge me.聽 I go away tomorrow for two nights and had to agree 100 lev.聽 Maybe I鈥檓 unlucky.

I regularly feed my neighbours animals when she goes away, it used to involve rabbits, cats, chickens & dog ( it's just the dog now ). Wouldn't dream of charging her, it's just a neighbourly thing to do & she insists on home made wine, rakia or honey as a thank you. I'm surprised at your neighbours!

always a commitment when you have animals

l have no dogs now but l did used to pay my neighbour, but l felt they needed it and it's cheaper than kennels

would be happy to help ,but am sure l don't live near you !

I don鈥檛 mind paying what is reasonable but hate being taken advantage of.聽 Recently I lent a neighbour 50 lev.聽 He said he would give it back on Friday (I don鈥檛 lend money I can鈥檛 afford to lose I don鈥檛 expect it back).聽 Friday came around and he came to me for another 70lev.聽 I said no.

I want advice on how much to pay.聽 One neighbour would do it but only if I鈥檇 pay for one week.

i would want them to feed one day morning and evening and then one morning and one evening.聽 It would take 5 minutes if that per visit.聽 All the horse麓s feed would be prepared and hay nets made up.

@Snowball6

That does raise a question in my suspicious mind: what ethnicity is the neighbour in question?

I should add that I pay some neighbours to feed etc our cats when we're away: they have a 20-minute walk each way and come twice a day to feed them and check/clean/empty/refill the litter-trays, and send us photos every day. Everything is more expensive in Sofia but even so I pay them 25 leva a day.

That鈥檚 helpful.聽 I鈥檝e no problem paying the neighbour I just don鈥檛 want to be looked upon as a cash cow
