Hi Anniem,

Telling it like it is!

I would suggest that if you have never been to Bulgaria then you should get here and take a look around first. Do not buy on your first pass and be very careful of all those eager "Estate Agents" who will want to represent you. Get a Lawyer that has been recommended by another Briton that has used their services. Make the Lawyer check that the person selling the property actually owns it and is the sole owner and owns the entire property and not just part of it. You are going to be an "Easy Mark" for unscrupulous people here.

Village life is not all it's cracked up to be depending on where you buy. Some of the villages are far from civilization, in the mountains or just plain "In the back Of Beyond" and get snowed in come winter. Some areas are without land-line/cell/internet coverage, national gas supply or main sewage connection.

Gypsies are a big problem in some of the villages and most of the local infrastructure was built 60-70 years ago and never maintained. No decent tarred road, street signage or street lighting etc. etc. etc.

I could go on, but hey if you like this sort of thing then you can't go wrong buying in Bulgaria at the moment.

I personally would buy within two hours drive of an international airport. If you look at the map of Bulgaria then Plovdiv is in the middle. If you draw a straight stripe North to South through the country, then any where within two hours drive N, S, E and W of this stripe is ideal.

BTW Ryanair now flys into Plovdiv from Stansted.

Skype me for more info if you want. kuhnoberholtzer

I am looking to sell my house in Varbak (10 mins from Shumen).

It's great, but i never have occasion to visit there anymore now that I have returned home to Australia.

Here are all the details:

It's really a great house, and in better times I was offered 33,000 Euros for it but turned it down.

I'm now willing to accept offers of 18,000 Euros or above.

Let me know if you are interested or know someone who might be.

Regards,

Kristen
Hi Kristen!

Please post your advert in the accommodation section of Bulgaria classifieds.

Those places must be small villages. You really should see them yourself. Some of the smaller villages with cheap houses are basically deserted because of lack of employment. The infrastructure might be real bad as well.
Hi Annien ,
Did you already buy a property in Bulgaria ?
